The Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) of Venezuela confirmed today, Thursday, the official results of the July 28 elections, which gave victory to Nicolás Maduro over candidate Gonzales Urrutia.
“This Electoral Chamber validates the results of the presidential election of the 28th issued by the National Electoral Council (CNE),” the tribune Caryslia Rodríguez, who reviewed the judicial expert opinion of the result given by the Venezuelan electoral body, told the press.
The ruling issued comes 22 days after Maduro himself requested this process.
Judge Rodríguez explained that she based her decision on a report prepared by national and international experts. It is worth mentioning that the process was carried out without the presence of representatives of the opposition who denounced electoral fraud.
